The clothes of the ancient Egyptian working man changed little over the centuries. He wore a short wrap-round skirt called a schenti made from linen which was tied at the waist using a belt. When working in the fields a labourer would often wear a loincloth or nothing at all. If you were a slave labourer you were too low in status to wear clothes you went naked all the time.
