we killed more than 58.000 American troops for nothing
It was America's only war in which America did not accomplish it's mission (did not accomplish its objective/did not win).
US Ambassadors did not believe Diem would accomplish US goals in Vietnam.
no 4 things
He wanted to win the war. Sadly, more troops did not accomplish his aim.
Take it you mean their mental state. North Vietnam had a mission (a purpose), and they were going to accomplish their mission...whatever the price. Safety was not first; the mission was!
im not an expert on this but i think that the Vietnam War could have accomplish SOMETHING. like... - Americans saw that they could not always win - Vietnam is recovering quite well - wars like this tells us that evil can sometimes conquer over good - the Vietnam war is something future people can learn about and reflect on - communism can be good SOMETIMES sorry if my answers not that good but that's what i understand anyways the Vietnam war accomplishes nothing but death!!!!!!!
to stop Communist expansion into Southeast Asia.
The Geneva Accords, signed in 1954, aimed to resolve the conflict in Vietnam following the First Indochina War. They temporarily divided Vietnam at the 17th parallel, establishing North Vietnam under communist leadership and South Vietnam with a non-communist government. The accords also called for nationwide elections to unify the country, which ultimately never occurred, leading to increased tensions and the eventual escalation of the Vietnam War.
Bombing them into submission. Making them accept our terms. Making them want to negotiate.
Vietnam never had the ability to take over the US, any more than it had the ability to take over France two decades earlier. To make the enemy give up and go home was the Vietnamese objective, and it required a colossal effort just to accomplish that.
not entirely. although we caused more harm than good by entering the war, we did accomplish some good in it. we saved some lives and did help it to progress more quickly.
In the end, the B-52's seemed to accomplish the mission. Alot was learned though; the US Navy's TOP GUN school and the US Air Force's RED FLAG dog-fighting schools were created; directly due to the aerial combat experience gained over the skies of North Vietnam.
