Well living in the same house with someone for 2 years can kinda make you fell certain ways about someone. She also thought he was sensitive and caring. She felt she could talk to him the easiest.
Anne Frank found Peter Van Pels to be dull, uninspiring, and lacking in ambition. She felt that he was too passive and didn't share her enthusiasm for deeper conversations or intellectual pursuits. Anne often expressed frustration with Peter's reserved and uninteresting personality.
In a house full of mostly adults and a teenager, Anne did talk to them, but Peter was easiest. She liked Peter because he was like most boys who were silent mostly, but kind. He did like her too because as a girl, a boy can explain most of his problems to her.
He was the only boy she saw for the last 2 years of her life. This in addition to her hitting puberty whilst she was living in the same residence with him. He would have been the only boy with who she would have had a physical, mature attraction.
In the end, Anne cared a great deal about Peter as a person, but she disliked his aimlessness, his scorn of religions of any kind, and perhaps most of all, his emotional neediness of Anne herself. Anne would have none of that.
When Anne's family meets the Van Daans at the hiding place she met Peter.
She originally sought out Peter Van Daan because she was lonely and felt the need to confide in another person.
