Marine reptiles were not technically "dinosaurs" but some were exceptionally large, such as the pliosaurs, pleisosaurs, icthyosaurs, and mososaurs.

These included:

Archelon - giant turtles

Askeptosaurus - giant eels

Ichthyosaurus - giant fish-like creatures

Liopleuradon - one of the largest

Mosasaurus - one of the first identified from a fossil, a snakelike sea lizard

Stomatosuchus - 36-foot prehistoric crocodile remarkably similar to modern species

Tylosaurus - a sleek 50-ft swimming predator

There were no dinosaurs that lived in the sea. Dinosaurs lived on land. But there were swimming reptiles.
