The general answer would be west.

However if you live in Cincinnati, Oh and want to visit your aunt in Chigago Illinois, you would travel northwest.

If you live in Toledo and want to visit your Aunt in Cairo, Illinois you would travel southwest.

And if you live in Columbus and wanted to visit your aunt in Bloomington, Ill you would travel due west.
