Dogs can get many types of cancer like humans. My sister-in-law's female dog has Breast cancer and thankfully survived. My little 10 year old Cairn died from Cushing's Disease which is a type of cancer. Dogs can get other types of cancer in organs as well or in the intestines. Dogs can become diabetic or have heart disorders.
there are many diff. kinds of cancer so it's hard to say but some get large bumps (cancerous tumor type things) and some dogs depending on what's being affected, might get sick, might cry (tears/tear stains down insides of eyes) there's a lot of different things that can be expressed, it's best to have the vet check out the symptoms.
they can get ticks, fleas, tapeworms, hookworms, round worms, heart worms, mites, whipworms, poisioning, hip disorder, fractures, sprains and internal bleeding plus lots of others.
NEVER REMOVE TICKS WITH BARE HANDS!!!
It hurts the dog when you use your bare hands. Always use tweezers!
*Actually if you use your bare hands to get the tick off your dog you can leave the ticks head embedded in the skin which can cause an infection. Even using tweezers you cannot be 100% sure you have got it all out. I suggest using the product Practic for Ticks and Fleas or Capstar.
Hemangiosarcoma it has one of the fastest metastitis rates. and if not caught in time can rupture the spleen and cause internal bleeding.
rabies
No dogs can not get chickenpox. Dogs usually don't get the same diseases as humans. They may get something similar to a human disease, but not the exact thing. But there are some diseases that humans and dogs get.
Neospora caninum which causes abortion also hydatids
Dogs can pretty much get the same illnesses as humans can.
The same that are with dogs and humans.
of course

The dogs that survived tapeworms and diseases, were eventually shot.
