Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, were affected by Pearl Harbor, as many men left their families to join the army. About 4,000 people were killed in the actual attack.
Was Melvin Meyers in Army at Pearl Harbor in 1941
1,177 people were killed when the USS Arizone was sunk during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The USS Nevada (BB-36) lost 50 killed and 109 wounded at Pearl Harbor.
The highest casualty rate was on the U.S.S. Arizona. Today, the sunken Arizona (which is a tomb for the men who died there) is a national monument.
no
During the attack of Pearl Harbor, 2,402 men were killed and 1,282 were wounded. On the other hand, 90,000-166,000 people died in Hiroshima and 60,000-80,000 in Nagasaki as a result of the use of the atom bomb. In the related links box, I posted the complete list of the Pearl Harbor casualties.
Well, none, actually. The Missouri (BB63) was only commisioned in the US Navy in June, 1944. The question probably means the USS Arizona, which was destroyed in Pearl Habor 12/7/41 with the loss of 1177 men.
There were 17,567 men and 234 women, 200 of whom were nurses.
