African elephants use tusks as weapons (and sometimes as digging tools), ears for both hearing and cooling, and the trunk is used to pick things up and move them around as needed, and also as a hose (elephants like to bathe).

Also on the end of a African elephants trunk, it has two fingers. Though Asian elephants only have one finger. ( These are true facts, I got them off my science teacher who specialises in differences found in similar mammals. )
