The CMOS contains user-defined settings for the BIOS. The Bios is a program that contains hardware instructions on how to start the computer.
Power On Self Test instructions are part of the BIOS that is stored in EPROM. Some of the parameters used by the EPROM are stored in the BIOS CMOS chip.

You need to check the motherboard manufacture website for new bios release, download it and follow installation instructions.
