We have a Christmas Tree and in evening of the 24th (!) the children first lay their presents for the adults under the tree and then the adults the presents for the children, but the children can't see it, because they have to believe that Jesus Christ (das Christkind) or Santa Claus (der Weihnachtsmann) brought the presents when he flew throw the window (Christ) or came through the oven (Santa).

But that's just a small time of christmas time, for the most people it means to beeing with their family, to cook cookies, to go to a christmas market, to sing christmas songs, to have snow (mostly), to have a comfortable light in the darkness, to be lovely and friendly to everybody else,... One more important part of christmas time ist to watch TV, because the best movies you can watch at christmas, when it's cold outside and warm in the own house/flat.
