Your question isn't clear on whether you want to help your daughter's friend, or the friend's parent.... either way the best thing to do is to befriend the parent, if possible.
They need to be brought to a point where they see that their child needs their continued presence.
This is not something that can be 'shown to them' - they have to come to realise it themself. I'd start with a few visits, if appropriate.
