Judaism and Islam reject the claim of Jesus having been the son of God.

Other information

Islam believes Jesus to be a prophet. Judaism, Islam and Christianity recognise all of the same prophets prior to the time of Jesus. Christians believe Jesus Christ to be the Messiah and like Judaism, rejects Muhammad as a fraudulent false prophet.

Judaism and Islam recognize many of the same prophets and Islam holds Christ to be only a prophet, not the son of God, whereas Christianity is based on Jesus being the Christ of God.

In Christianity, Jesus of Nazareth is identified as the Son of God and the Second Person of the Trinity; he is therefore God Himself. I cannot speak as an expert about Hinduism, Islam, Judaism or Buddhism, but none of these well-established faiths identify Jesus as divine. He may be viewed to be a respected teacher, philosopher or prophet but not as the omnipotent, omnipresent or omniscient Creator God. Certainly, you will find a number of proverbs, statements or concepts that compare favorably among these faiths, although each consists of two or more sects and beliefs that vary from the slight to the substantial. Jesus is THE difference.

Mark Epps, CFE

not really , Hinduism : what is not in common is that resurrection happens to every one , after he dies , he will resurrect , if he was a good guy , he will be resurrected as a rich /strong/etc man, if he was a bad man , he will come back as poor/weak/etc .

Buddhism : they follow the teachings of a man , some Buddhist think of him as god , but most don't .

Judaism : Judaism has no dogma, no formal set of beliefs that one must hold to be a Jew , a widely-accepted list of Jewish beliefs is Rambam's thirteen principles of faith , they call him YHWH .

Christianity : the idea of god having a son with a virgin human , his dies for the sin of mankind , then joins the trinity .

Islam : Muslims belive in one god above all , they call him " Allah ''

Christians believe there is only one true Christ and he was of the tribe of Levi, of the house of Aaron as was his mother (Luke), his mother was married to one of the tribe of Judah of the house of David, called Joseph (Matthew). This made Christ both High Priest and King of all of the house of Israel all 12 tribes. Those who do not confess Christ can not approach the father because Christ rent the veil to the holy of holies (Matthew 27:51, Mark 15:38, Luke 23:45), and became the only doorway to our Father for all people, John chapter 10.

In those words of Christ lie the answer to your question concerning the difference between Christians and any other belief (regardless). "Verily Verily I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber (John 10:1). Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily Verily I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep (John 10:7).

They both recognize Jesus as a significant person (in different ways), whereas in Judaism, Jesus plays no role.

Another answer:

There is nothing common in the teaching of Christianity and Islam other than the belief of One God and partial agreement of Jesus' identity. Jews do not accept Jesus as Messiah.

Following are some of the differences between Christianity and Islam:

1. Christians have the same God who revealed to Abraham, Moses and other Jewish prophets as JEHOVAH. Islam has Allah as God.

2. In Christianity, Jesus came and died for sinners as prophesied by the Jewish prophets. In Islam, Jesus did not die but taken to heaven.

3. Love your enemies is the Christian teaching. Islam does not teach to love non-Muslims.

4. Christianity has a savior Jesus Christ who saves them from sins and hell punishment. Islam does not have a savior but has only messengers who died just like regular humans.

5. Marrying another person while your spouse is living is adultery according to Christian teaching. Islam does not consider this as a sin (following Muhammad's example).

6. Christianity offers a heaven with the presence of Lord Jesus. Islam offers a heaven with milk, vine and virgins.

7. Jesus is the Son of God in Christianity as revealed in OT. Jesus is just a messenger in Islam even though Jesus is unique in Quran.

8. Christianity found in the New Testament has no rituals. Islam has a lot of rituals including kissing the black stone at Kaaba.

9. Christians are called children of God. Muslims are the slaves of Allah.

10. Christians worship God in spirit and no directional worship. Muslims worship Allah by turning towards Kaaba in Mecca.

11. New Testament teaches Jesus is the only way to heaven. Quran teaches good Christians, Jews, Sabience will also go to heaven.

12. Salvation is guaranteed in Christianity since Jesus died to save them. No guaranty for salvation in Islam.

Christians believe in the divinity of Jesus, while Islam teaches that Jesus was only a prophet and Jews say that he was, at most, just a wandering preacher.

The Prophet Muhammad belongs to Islam, and is not part of Judasim or Christianity.

Judaism has developed a large number of non-scriptural beliefs and midrashim many of which are not shared by Christianity or Islam.

A fundamental belief shared by Christians and Muslims, but not by most Jews is the existence of hell.

Another is the belief that Satan, the devil, is the evil adversary of God. Jews believe that Satan is the loyal assistant of God, tasked with testing the righteousness of the faithful.

Original sin is a Christian concept, not shared by Judaism and Islam.

Islam has a number of beliefs that arguably came from the pre-Islamic pagan religion of Arabia, including belief in Jinn.
