Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) are taught that they should strive to have good, friendly relationships with everyone, regarless of their faith or background. Mormons are encouraged to be friendly and loving to all people.

As far as romantic relationships go, Mormon teens are encouraged to avoid dating until they are at least 16 years old. They are encouraged to date others that have the same high standards, although not necessarily those of the same faith. Mormons are expected to avoid any sexual relationships outside of marriage and forbid homosexual relationships. They are also encouraged, but not required, to marry others within the faith. Mormons are not against mixed-faith or mixed-race relationships. Married Mormons are expected to be entirely devoted to their spouse. Adultery or polygamous relationships result in excommuncation from the Church.

Do all Mormons believe in the book of Mormon?

Yes. All members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) believe that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it is a volume of scripture to be used as a companion with the Holy Bible. This is a key doctrine of the Church, and belief in the Book of Mormon is a requirement for baptism. Joseph Smith called the Book of Mormon the "Keystone of our religion", meaning that belief in the Book of Mormon is fundamental, and if taken out the entire church would collapse. Does the Book of Mormon prohibit same-sex marriage?

The only thing the Book of Mormon says regarding same sex relationships is found in 2 Nephi 13:9, which declares sodomy a sin. It is a quote of Isaiah 3:9 in the Bible. Other than that, there is absolutely no mention of same-sex relationships. The Book of Mormon does, however, state that followers should follow God's commandments found in the Bible. The Bible does have more to say in condemning homosexual relationships.
