Penicillin is an antibiotic. Penicillin is used to treat many different types of infections caused by bacteria, such as ear infections prescribed by doctors for bacterial infections in wounds
Destroys the cell walls of the bacteria allowing the bacteria's cytoplasm to exit the cell as well as allowing water and ions to enter, causing apoptosis of the bacteria.
