A pyrotechnician is someone who is responsible for setting up a fireworks display, as well as discharging the fireworks in a planned series of events during the performance.

A person who wants to work in this field must be knowledgeable about the applicable laws (federal, state, and municipal) that govern the safety procedures that must be followed before and during a fireworks display. Depending on the state where the show is taking place, the fireworks operators may need to be licensed.

well most movie pyrotechnicians who work in movies are usually just normal bomb making pyros but first if you want to do it in a movie you have to find a movie who needs an explosion and you have to make sure they don't already have one because you only need one to three pyros per movie then if you find a movie talk to the director, producer and maybe the stunt man but you could just talk to the director that is how you become a pyrotech for a movie

Were fireworks invented for celebration?

This is what Wikipedia has to say: The earliest unequivocal documentation of fireworks dates back to 12th century China,[1] where they were first used to frighten away evil spirits with their loud sound ("bian pao") and also to pray for happiness and prosperity. Eventually, the art and science of firework making developed into an independent profession of its own. In ancient China, pyrotechnicians (firework-masters) were well-respected for their knowledge and skill to mount dazzling displays of light and sound.

What do you do to become a pyrotechnician?

In this day and age, entering into the professional field of fireworks is much more complex then in the past. The fireworks industry is heavily regulated by many federal, state, and local agencies. Here are some items to consider: * You must be at least 18 years of age, (some states require 21 years of age), to participate on a display fireworks crew. * You must be at least 21 years old to be a Display Operator in charge. * You should have a true passion for fireworks. * You cannot be afraid of hard work. * Find a reputable fireworks display company, and attend a beginners training class. * You will be asked to submit to criminal background checks and alcohol and drug testing. * You will be subject to classroom training as well as hands on training out in the field * You will be required to work as an apprentice on at least 3 to 6 outdoor fireworks shows and will be observed and evaluated on your performance and safety practices. * You will work on several shows as an assistant to the Display Operator in charge, once you have gained enough experience and understand all of the regulations, you may then be ready to take on your own show. * This process could take 1 to 3 years, depending on how many shows you participate on, how quickly you become proficient and the rules of the pyrotechnic company. * A Display Operator, may also be required to get a CDL (commercial driver license) with a hazmat endorsement which will require classroom training, driver training, more criminal background and drug and alcohol testing. Many states specifically require a pyrotechnician's license for their state, which require testing as well as an annual fee. Most pyrotechnicians in the U.S. pursue this field as a second job, and choose to be part of an elite group within the entertainment industry. Less than 3% of the population participate in this activity. Being a Fireworks Display operator gives you the opportunity to travel and be part of the exciting world of fireworks entertainment and earn some extra income at the same time.

Who is the patron saint of yachtsmen?

The most accurate answer is St Adjutor. Notwithstanding this, there are a number of other saints who have been deigned to patronise activities akin to yachting. For example:- * St Erasmus of Formiae is widely regarded as the patron saint sailors (and also the that of pyrotechnicians, steeplejacks, chimney sweeps and anyone who works at great heights). * * Brendan the Navigator (the patron saint of mariners, seafarers, sailors and those traveling by sea), and * * Peter the Apostle (whose wideranging patronage extends over sailors, popes, fishermen, fishmongers, bakers, harvesters, butchers, glass makers, carpenters, shoemakers, clockmakers, blacksmiths, potters, masons, bridge builders and cloth makers). Apparently, the seafaring of the Bretons regard St Maturinus as their patron Saint.
