That depends on the animal. Animals almost always have to travel to find their food source, no matter what it is. In the case of herbivores, they eat plants so they have to find whatever type of plant they normally eat be it grass, leaves, bark, etc. Carnivores obtain food by hunting and more often than not, they hunt herbivores. Many carnivores will follow herbivores as long as they can to be able to hunt. Omnivores eat both plants and animals so in many cases, they can and do hunt at times but they also have their plant food source to fall back on.
