The way astronomers find black holes Is by using x-ray imaging from one of the many types of telescopes that orbit the earth. Black holes give off an incredible amount of x-ray waves.
This is the only evidence I know of they use.
Black Holes actually can't be seen. Their gravitational pull is so strong that light can't go out of it once it goes in. There would be a giant spot of nothing in an area. The technology used to "detect" black holes is gravitational lensing i.e seeing a black hole affects the space/time surrounding it.
They look for x-rays and material being drawn away from a star and for stars circling massive compact objects.
The only technology that can help us would be telescopes because nothing can get close enough to it without being destroyed utterly.
It is a tricky question because black holes are invisible, but scientists know that they are exist because black holes distort light, so it kind of change the light and also it sucks everything into it, so when scientists see stars starting to disappear, thats mean there is a black hole.
i was doing this project for school. here was the info i found. black holes are black because no light can escape. because of that they are invisible. to see a black hole scientists use space telescopes and special tools to look at the stars. stars orbiting black holes act differently than other stars.
After the black hole dies out, (see When do black holes die and/or How does a black hole get smaller) it will become just a vacuum.
scientists and astronomers will use x-rays, and radio telescopes. scince we can never directly observe black holes, because the gravity is so great, we cant see whats inside, but we can watch the stars that orbit them, and watch their patterns
See the link below to find out!
There is enough evidence for black holes - I don't see any problem there.
The assumptions are not quite correct.Scientists CAN see black holes. In fact, black holes are among the brightest objects in the Universe. Of course, light can't escape from WITHIN the black hole; rather, what we see is the accretion disk. Also, scientists are PRETTY SURE that black holes are real. As to why it is important: Black holes are fascinating objects by themselves. They also seem to play an important role in galaxy formation.
Scientists can detect black holes by using x-rays and gamma rays. Black holes still can release matter, and black holes give off a lot off x and gamma rays.
Yes, there is such thing as a black hole, they are very mysterious and very, very, very hard to see. But, scientists don't try to "look" for black holes, they detect them with radars that search for vibrations in space. Scientists look for these vibrations because the black holes give off this energy with gigantic force that pulls you into the center. It has so much energy and force that it vibrates. So, yes there are such things as black holes.
Scientists use telescopes, take millions of pictures of space and the stars. When a star is suddenly not there in one of the images, this means a black hole has passed over it. There are millions of black holes in the entirety of the milky way galaxy. quite often our scientists see one.

You can't see a black hole.
You can't see a black hole.
No. If Neptune were to encounter a black hole, it would be destroyed.
Black holes emit so very little radiation they are hard to see. Many black holes lie at the center of galaxies and there they are hidden by stars and dust.
