bloodworms. A small amount. i have a 3year old spanish ribbed newt and i feed it half a cm of frozen bloodworms everyday. they can also eat cut up garden worms but i"ve found that when you do it's hadr to make them eat bloodworms again. Also small crickets but they'll be hard to catch cuz newts are mostly blind.
Newts are carnivores and insects, worms etc. are their main food source
newts love worms, slugs, snails(no shell)they will eat goldfish food aswell
crickets are fine but dont leave them in the tank so long overwise they will bite your newt
baby newts eat small insects , such as pond shrimp and little Spiders, baby worms ect...

Most newts should be kept away from the adults. If adults do not eat enough they will eat their own eggs.
