On Independence Day most Bajans would have attended the annual Independence Day Parade at the historic Garrison Savannah. This is held the night before and continues until 12 a.m on Independence Day to commemorate the inaugural ceremony. The day itself is filled with lots to eat and drink especially the local dish of flying fish and cou-cou and the traditional conkies.
