The smell of catnip makes any cat happy. My two cats absolutely love it. I would recommend putting catnip powder on some of its toys. But a word of warning, never try and take the catnip back until the cat loses interest (this will happen when the smell wares off) or you WILL get attacked by even the most placid of felines.
I thing there is also a device that you plug into the wall. Apparently it creates a calm environment for the cat. Should be good for aggressive cats, but I have never tried it so you will have to find out for yourself.
