Well in Pokemon emerald I would usually fly to sootopolis and surf down to the bottom. you may need to use your poke navigator. there should be a path to ever grand city. then you use waterfall and there will be a Poke center and a cave. heal your pokemon. go in the cave, you will fight wally. the guy that you helped catch the ralts in the beginning of the game . beat him and keep going through the cave. keep in mind there are tons of trainers. once you make it through the cave, you will fight the elite four but before that in that building there is a poke mart and a poke center. buy a lot of revives and potions. they will make it easier. hope this helps.
