What would you do on a stranded island where no one can ever save you?

eat lots of fruit don't drink the water from the ocean and protect yourself from sun
Food- find clams (dapends where you are) gater coconuts (hit tree with bam boo)
Fire- have two peices of bamboo and rub them together near dead grass or some sort of dead plant and it will catch fire
Water- stick a stick throught a coconut --o- and fill it with water hold the coco nut above the fire (have the bottom almost in it) and it will boil
Shelter- have it near the shore but not too close or it will be windy and cold make a bamboo lean-too against a tree and use vine to tie it the bamboo togerther and secure lean-too into ground then cover it with pom fronds here is the bed

Try and contact outside help, or learn survival skills, such as building a shelter or making a fire, or catching wild animals. Although it is fictional, the book Hatchet can teach you a lot about surviving in the wild.

2. The next priority is to avoid death from hypothermia. If the island is cold, then immediately find or build shelter, and dry out your clothes. An easy shelter can be made by lying between two logs, and covering yourself with leaves.
3. Prepare for rescue. An "X" symbol on the ground is internationally recognized as "require assistance". Use contrasting colors. A good choice of materials is white coral on black lava, or black rocks on a white beach. Determine whether the island is inhabited.
4. Find fresh water. You can last only a few days without water. Make a judgement as to your chances of rescue before abandoning the rescue option though. Look in inland valleys for water. Coconut water will also suffice. Drink urine only as a last resort, and sea-water never.
5. Finding food is a fairly low priority. You can last several weeks without food. Coconuts, fruit, and insects should be the main diet. Fish and mammals are very difficult to catch.

∙ 14y agoI would say it depends on how quickly it all happens, but it seems to me the safest place to be would be on something floating on the water well away from the Island.
If it is erupting slowly it would make sense to simply move away from the lava flow to a safer part of the Island, a quick explosion or rapid flow all over would make me want to find something that floats and get as far away as possible.
