It depends what the animal has been eating recently. Typically, the shape is clumps about 1.5-2" in diameter dropped in a pile. If it has been eating meat, the color will be blackish and the texture smooth. If the bear has been eating plant material, the fibrous plant material will be visible. If the bear has been eating berries, they will be obvious. Because the bear's digestive system works very quickly, food is passed seemingly undigested; many times, berries pass through physically intact.
