Lice like to live there because they get everything they need. Food, shelter and a place to have their kids. They crawl around the scalp and bite it to feed off the blood. This is why we feel the itch and they lay their eggs on our hair. Sometimes it is hard to see them there because of the amount of hair we have.

∙ 14y agoThe head. They need the warmth and the blood in order to survive and they especially like the warmth from the head to help keep their eggs or nits warm so that they can hatch properly. They can live off of the human head for two to three days, depending on the conditions but ultimately their goal is to find a "head" so that they can lay their eggs on the hair shaft or directly on the scalp!!
