Yes actually there is they call him father Christmas and he lives on the moon. :) I think they got the moon confused with the North Pole, but who knows maybe we are confused and he does live on the moon. :)
They have a Buddhist monk called Hotei-osho who acts like Santa Claus. He brings presents to each house and leaves them for the children. Some think he has eyes in the back of his head, so children try to behave like he is nearby.
Japanese say Santa just like it is in English... SANTA.
He looks japenese and he talks to all the children to give them presents but sometimes they get what they want.
Japan is primarily a Buddhist country and hence does not observe Santa Claus which is an elaboration on the Christian Saint Nicholas.
