What do long haired hamsters like to do?
they like to play.
well female long haired hamsters r pretty much the same as male and female short haired hamsters. male long haired hamsters tend to grow very long hair instead of female long haired hamsters. so male long haired hamsters are not really similar 2 short haired hamsters but females are.
Teddy bear hamsters are just long haired syrian hamsters.
Long haired hamsters can live usually 3-8 years.
long haired syrian hamsters have long hair... short haired syrian hamsters have short hair
Just like with dogs, usually teddybear hamsters and long haired hamsters. They do gain lots of pollen as well.
No, all Russian Dwarf Hamsters are short-haired.
Only long haired hamsters.
Of course they can! Hair length doesnt make a difference
No more than short haired. It depends on the individual.
A long haired hamster, also known as a syrian hamster, can grow up to 5-6 inches. Even though they have longer and messier coats types than a short haired hamster, a long haired hamster does not grow bigger in size than a short haired. Long haired hamsters reach their full size a within a year after birth.
I think they are from South America.
2-3 1/2 years
No, they do very well the way they are.
Not unless u cut it
Yes, absolutely, but in moderation.
It doesn't matter if there long haired, short haired, dwarf or what ever they can bite when angry or if your hands smell of food.
my short haired hamster is about 4" when its not stretched out!=) when she is stretched out she is about say 6"=) hope this helps!
yes only if there long haired and harry
dwarf hamsters, longed haired, short haired... that's all i got, but dwarf hamsters are the cutest :3
All Dwarf hamster are short-haired. The Russian Dwarf, Winter White, Chinese Dwarf, Roborovski's dwarf, etc. The long-haired hamsters are Syrians.
Yes mostly long haired because hair keeps you warm
Syrian hamsters are the largest if you buy a baby Syrian hamster it will be tiny but when it is fully grown it will be huge. long haired Syrian hamsters are sometimes called teddy bear hamsters because they are so much like a teddy bear
well i think some are i will tell you what the right answer is soon
There isn't a long haired gerbil and hamsters are bigger than gerbils.
It might be a good idea sometimes to trim the 'skirt' of a long-haired hamster, as cage debris like sawdust tends to get stuck in it.
All long haired hamsters should be brushed regularly. You may have to clip out the knots to begin with. Carefully of course.
All hamsters have tails, however the tail of a Syrian hamster is short, and might be hidden if the hamster is a long-haired one.
If you have a short haired hamster like a Syrian then it cleans itself. If your hamster is long haired then you have to brush it depending on the length and thickness of its hair. Never bathe your hamster, they hate water and lick themselves to keep clean anyway.
hamsters tend to smell more if they have long hair so it would be better to go for a short haired hamster if you are thinking about getting one
Yes, you can get long haired and short haired guinea pigs which will grow up to 10-14 inches long while hamsters will grow up to 14 centimetres long.
Yes, but only if they are the same breed of hamster. Ex...Two short haired can stay in the same cage...two long haired can stay in the same cage.
If you have a short haired hamster you wouldn't have to deal with knots in the hair, a long haired hamster has long hair that you would have to brush everyday. I have a hamster with extremely long hair and i brush everyday. That what keeps knots out of the hair. It also makes it soft. DO NOT CUT ITS HAIR, unless it is used to your hand and will stay very still. If you… Read More
Golden hamsters are chunky rodents with compact, low-slung bodies. They have large ears, and a tiny tail. Golden hamsters have cheek pouches which the hamster can store food in, this is very noticable. Golden hamsters come in dozens of varieties of coat colour and pattern, as well as long-haired individuals.
depending on your hamster, some hamsters do need to be brushed. long haired hamsters such as teddy bear hamsters need to be brushed at least a few time a week. if they have really long hair its good to brush then everyday or every other day. on the other hand, dwarf hamsters do not need to be brushed because they have short hair but you could bush them if you wanted too.
It can vary around in the single digits but most Shorthaired Hamsters get 6-7 in.
Hairless syrian hamsters are very rare so they may not carry them at your local petsmart.
Well, it depends on the breed, not usually the gender. I have a Long Haired Teddy Bear Hamster female that has never bitten ANYONE while my friend has a Long Haired Teddy Bear Hamster male and he has only bitten once. Dwarf hamsters are known to be very territorial and bite A LOT. Especially two males together.
You don't. It is very aware of it's hygene and will groom itself. If you wash it, it might die because the natural oils on its body will be washed away. And that is the good thing about hamsters. ;) P.S. If you have a long haired hamster, you will need to have a hamster brush to groom it. That's why if you are a first-timer, you shouldn't purchase a long-haired one for the sake… Read More
they are like mouse but some, like the siberian, are fluffier and no hamsters have long tails. they are REALLY cute
Technically they only live in captivity, and never have lived in the wild due to natural causes. Teddy bear hamsters were selectively bred from ordinary short haired hamsters with unusually long coats, so probably originated from labs.
No but you do need to brush teir fur every day with a small brush. a clean toothbrush sould be ok.
If you're willing to put about a half hour a day into grooming, yes. I like short-haired, too. They don't take as long to groom, and they're just as beautiful as long-haired.
Yes, it's just another name of calling them:). As well as Golden Hamsters, Syrian hamsters are also sometimes referred to as teddy bear hamsters (long haired syrian hamsters), alien hamsters (hairless syrian hamsters), black bear or european black bear (black syrian hamsters). They are all variations in colour/coat of the same species of hamster. I believe all hamsters are from Syrian so they all have a common ancestry
Short, very much like a lion's. Mainly short hair alright.
A long haired dog is quite simply a long haired dog (or Dog with long hair). Last time I checked there were no special names for long haired dogs but of course there are lots of breeds of long haired dogs. Hope this helped :)
If Nancy Pelosi had her way, then all females, especially long haired flea infested dope smoking rodents who vote democrat, would never need a male for anything (except for killing spiders...). However, despite the political incorrectness of it all, hamsters need both a male and a female to reproduce, regardless of how they get their hair done by their stylist.
Yes. There are long haired chihuahuas mixed with terriers. They look very much like a long haired chihuahua but are slightly larger. They vary in size and can be between 8-15lbs. Mine is about 14 which is on the heavier side.
it does not make a difference if they are long haired
No this is not a good idea. Hamsters don't need trimming and this sort of hamster doesn't have particular long hair. The chances are you will cut the hamster. -I agree, long-haired hamsters would be the type most likely to need a trim per Vet's professional opinion.
Hamsters do not have good eyesight they depend on their sense of smell. so hamsters having long whiskers help them know were they are going and what they are doing its like anoth pair of eyes for them.
