They do exactly what adult psychologists do, but pediatric psychologists are specially trained in how to talk to children. (Since children may be intimidated by the idea of going to a psychologist, they are trained in how to be friendly, approachable and unintimidating). Also, childs' "logic" is quite different to adult logic, and they are trained to comprehend this distinction.
