The problem with treating the infestation in the US with the pine shoot beetles natural enemy is the introduction of yet another alien species.The only effective course of action in the US other than the timing of debarking the Europeans use is the quarantine of affected tree varieties from state to state transport, at least until a more effective means of treatment can be established.
