Plants use glucose, or sugar (one example of a carbohydrate) as food. Which allows plants to grow and convert CO2 (what humans and other animals breathe out) into Oxygen, as long as they have water as well!

Plants use photosynthesis to draw carbon atoms from carbon dioxide molecules (carbon dioxide being a waste gas produced by animals, including human beings) to produce sugars and carbon for their own use. Plants then expel the "waste" that is the remnant oxygen atoms ... which, conveniently, animals (including we human beings) need to survive. Human and animal life could not exist were it not for oxygen produced through photosynthesis.

This is one of the reasons that deforestation is a significant concern, as forests are among the most robust photosynthesizers in terms of carbon dioxide-to-oxygen exchange over a fixed number of acres, primarily due to how tall trees are (just as more people can live in an acre if that acre has tall apartment buildings over single-story houses).

What happens to the products in photosynthesis?

The products of Photosynthesis are : 1) Glucose 2) NADP+, ADP & P 1) Glucose is either used for respiration or stored in the plant in the form of Starch. 2) NADP+, ADP & P return to the Light Dependant stage for another cycle of photosynthesis.

The picks up sugars and other products of photosynthesis from the leaves and distributes them throughout the plant?

the answer is phloem

By products of photosynthesis?

Oxygen is the primary by product of photosynthesis, plants convert CO2 to oxygen. Other by products include water and glucose, which is stored in the plant.
