I think those names are very unique, which means that Mrs. Palin thinks on her own and is not influenced by what everyone else is doing. I admire anyone who has the gumption to do this! I understand that all of her children's names mean something special to her. I believe I read that:

* Piper was named after a club in Alaska, * Trackwas born during track season and a sport she loved, * Trigmeans "true" and "strength"in Norse * Bristol was named after a place where the family fish, * Willow is a town in Alaska. * I find it silly that anyone would have a problem with her naming her children what she wants to name them, and I applaud her for her individualism. Isn't that what American is all about? I also hope that Oprah Winfrey (who claims to be a fair person) will give Mrs. Palin the opportunity to appear on her show. * It Means Sarah shouldn't be allowed to name children. I can just see her naming special forces operations if given the chance. I mean come on, (pied)Piper, (weeping)Willow , Bristol (board). Track (n field), Trig(ger the horse) Track, her oldest son, was named because she and Mr. Palin are avid runners. Bristol, oldest daughter, is named after Bristol Bay, where they would often fish. Trig is Norse for "strength" - probably named him that because they knew of his disability. Not sure about Willow and Piper.
Two Sources are being used: babynamesworld.com and From Aaron to Zoe 15,000 Great Baby Names by: Daniel Avram Richman Willow: BNW: Willow (itself) GBN: (Greek) Willow Bristol: BNW: N/A GBN: N/A I searched a little bit and found on nydailynews.com/news/politics/republican_race/2008/08/30/2008-08-30_whats_in_the_palin_childrens_names_fish_.html that Bristol was named after Bristol Bay where her family fishes. Track: BNW: N/A GBN: N/A However, on the same website listed above, it stated the Track was named in honor of that sports season, 18 years ago. Trig: BNW: N/A GBN: N/A However, on the wesite above that I am becoming more dependant on, says that his first name "Norse" means "True" or "Strength" and Trig is a the name of a favorite sport of Ms. Palin's in Alaska. Piper: BNW: A Pipe Player GBN: N/A The other webiste listed nothing
