You can never be specific because the dog is a cross breed meaning any colouring/features can vary.
For example one puppy from a Chow/Rott breeding could have the entire looks of a Shar-pei with Rott markings whearas a different puppy could have a Rott head, shar-pei tail and a mix of the two in body proportions and markings.
You can never be sure with a mix breed until the pup has matured some what after birth, usually around 5-10 months.
I have only seen one and she has the color of a rott and the face and tail of the shar pei. Very muscular and very friendly.
I have a shar pei / rott . She is 3 years old. She has the coloring of a rott. but everything else is shar pei. She has the textbook features of a shar pei, wrinklkes and all. if it wasnt for her coloring, I would think she is purebreed. I have seen pictures of rott/shar pei and they look nothing like mine. most of the pic's I have seen, i dont see either shar pei or rott in them, lol. Mine is very very smart and easy to train. She loves kids and women. She is textbook shar pei. she shy's from strangers. once she gets to know them she is very playful. great watch dog and family dog.
