Turtles hibernate in the winter. They bury themselves deep in the mud and stay there until spring comes.

It depends what species the turtle is. When I had a baby snapping turtle I only kept it for a couple months and I fed her turtle food from walmart I dont really know if adult or teen adolescent turltes can eat it or not.

There are times when the temperature in Arizona dips into the high 20's (F) at night and shallow pools of water can freeze. It does not stay cold long enough for lakes or rivers to freeze over. Parts of Arizona do get snow during the winter months.
