The social worker is here to help familes with child problems. If a child does not do their homework and a reminder about the social worker keeps coming up in the upper right hand carn that means that she is going to take ALL of the children.

I'm not sure of the above answer, it doesn't make much sence. A social worker does not only take children away from their homes. Social Workers work in a range of fields from hospitals, working with people who are struggling with a mental health illness, or helping families or patients who are terminally ill. They work in group homes, shelters for the homeless, politics, in inner-city agenices, as youth workers, home support workers and teachers in colleges or universities. They sometimes open their own practice and counsel indiviudals or families. Some social workers do work in child protection but try very hard not to remove children from their homes. There is a lot of stereotyping against social workers but their main role is NOT to remove children from their families. I work in child protection and if our office gets a call from a school about a child doing their home work and that is the ONLY concern, we tell the school to deal with it as that is NOT a child protection concern. There has to be other things besides homework or truency for us to get involved.
