Depends on the temperature and how deep they were planted and if they got enough moisture. The ones I planted took 14-21 days to pop up above the ground. I planted them 3-4 inches deep. What looks like root can be a sprout and some people plant them upside down. You can try placing the bulbs in a tray of shallow water and let them sprout new green growth and then plant them in the ground, green growth upwards.
