The Seventh Commandment reads: "You must not commit adultery." And what was the penalty for violating this law? Death, capital punishment. (Exodus 20:14; Deut. 22:22)

That adultery is also forbidden for Christians is likewise unequivocally stated. They are expressly told that adulterers 'will not inherit God's kingdom,' and that "God will judge fornicators and adulterers." (1 Cor. 6:9, 10; Heb. 13:4

ANOTHER ANSWER:

Judging by the conditions in the world... they don't seem to be teaching us much of anything. But, Jesus Christ [the Creator God of the Old Testament - see John 1:3] breaks the Ten Commandments down into TWO categories: how to LOVE GOD and how to LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

The last SIX Commandments reveal how we [all of us... ALL OF MANKIND] LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

Respect, honor and be loyal to one another. Don't hate one another [the first spiritual stages of MURDER - I John 3:15]. Don't steal from or lie to one another. Don't be envious and jealous of one another.

The FOURTH COMMANDMENT... the REMEMBRANCE OF THE SABBATH... is showing our [mankind's] respectful relationship to and for his Creator... remembering that WE WERE SPECIALLY CREATED and not a monumental cosmic accident -- which is just one more of the "forgotten and ignored" Commandments by which man has failed to allow himself to be taught.

The lessons are there for the "teaching" and for the "learning".... but mankind's rebellious and selfish NATURE won't allow his spirit to acknowledge God's Truth: following to hateful, envious ways of this world's god, instead. So, the world will have to wait for its Creator's return, when the Ten Commandments will become the CONSTITUTIONAL LAWS by which His Kingdom will be ruled.

Then the world will know and understand WHAT LOVE AND PEACE truly is:

"...I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MIND, and WRITE THEM IN THEIR HEARTS: and I WILL BE TO THEM A GOD... for ALL SHALL KNOW ME, from the least to the greatest..." (Heb.8:10-11).

What are the differences between the 7 deadly sins and the 10 commandments?

The 7 deadly sins are behaviors that are considered immoral in Christianity, while the 10 commandments are a set of religious and moral imperatives given by God to the people of Israel. The 7 deadly sins focus on individual behavior and attitudes, while the 10 commandments provide guidelines for moral living and relationships with God and others.

What Christian teachings explain why Christians should help people?

It is primarily found in the two great commandments given to us by Jesus. The first is to love God above all else. The second is to love your neighbor as yourself. The two great commandments are, essentially, a summation of the 10 commandments. The first 3 commandments correspond to the first great commandment and the last 7 commandments correspond to the 2nd great commandment. Please see the following biblical passages for the scriptural evidence of the 2 great commandments: Matthew 22:34-40 Luke 10:25-28 Mark 12:28-34

Which commandment summarizes the last seven commandments?

It depends how you count the commandments. (Jews and different Christian groups count the first three differently.) Typically, the first three commandments deal with the worship of other gods (not allowed) and how to avoid blaspheming God (by not building idols or taking his name in vain).

What statement describes the Jewish ten commandments?

There are two slightly different versions of the 10 commandments, one in Exodus, one in Deuteronomy. Jews generally refer to the 10 statements, since some of the statements are not in the form of commandments. The 2 versions of the 10 commandments differ in whether we are commanded to keep the Sabbath or to Remember it. Jews believe that the 10 commandments are only binding on Jews, while the 7 Noachide commandments are binding on all mankind.

How Does the sin of parents affects their children?

"...SIN IS the transgression of the Law." (I John 3:4)Most people don't understand that SIN IS the breaking of the Ten Commandments. I John 3 verse 4 is God's DEFINITION OF SIN. Paul elaborates:"What shall we say then? IS THE LAW SIN? [many of the hundreds of denominations of modern professing Christianity answer YES! but Paul says:] GOD FORBID! Nay I had not KNOWN SIN, but BY THE LAW: for I had not known LUST, except the Law had said, 'THOU SHALT NOT COVET' [which is Commandment #10]."God commands PARENTS to TEACH THEIR CHILDREN HIS COMMANDMENTS!"...THESE ARE THE COMMANDMENTS... which the LORD your God [Jesus Christ, the WORD, the Almighty Creator God of the Old Testament who said 'Let there be light' - see John 1:3] COMMANDED TO TEACH YOU [parents], that YE MIGHT DO THEM IN THE LAND... that thou MIGHTEST FEAR THE LORD THY GOD, to KEEP ALL HIS STATUTES AND HIS COMMANDMENTS, which I command THEE, THOU, and THY SON, and THY SON'S SON, ALL THE DAYS OF THY LIFE; and that THY DAYS MAY BE PROLONGED." (Deut.6:1-2)"And thou SHALT TEACH THEM DILIGENTLY UNTO THY CHILDREN..." (verse 7).There it is for any to read, see, and understand a parent's RESPONSIBILITY TO GOD FOR HIS CHILDREN. To TEACH THEM GOD'S COMMANDMENTS!But parents don't do that, do they? Parents barely [if at all] know the Commandments of God themselves. Most of the churches have done away with God's Law, thinking that 'Jesus did away with the Law,' and that without the Commandments 'there is therefore NO SIN!'People and parents teach that to their children, in spite of Jesus' assurance: "THINK NOT that I AM COME TO DESTROY THE LAW, or the prophets: I am NOT come to destroy, but to FULFILL [to EXECUTE, VERIFY, to KEEP PERFECTLY, to FULLY PREACH]." (Matt.5:17)So, parents don't keep them -- the PARENTS SIN. And they FAIL to teach their children to keep them -- which DIRECTLY "AFFECTS THEIR CHILDREN" as they spend their lives in the sins of the parents [along with the rest of the world].God commands parents and their children: "And thou shalt DO THAT WHICH IS RIGHT AND GOOD IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD [keeping His Commandments]: that IT MAY BE WELL WITH THEE..." (Deut.6:18).Has anyone been wondering lately WHY THINGS HAVE NOT GONE WELL WITH OUR NATION? Not many... IF ANY... seem to be. Parents just can't figure out why their kids are killing other kids. The answer is ages-old, written in "God's Instruction Manual" for His creation: man, the Children of His future Divine Immortal Family."All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to TEACH US WHAT IS TRUE and TO MAKE US REALIZE WHAT IS WRONG IN OUR LIVES. It STRAIGHTENS US OUT [if we obey it and teach it to our children] and TEACHES US TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT [if we do what God Commands us to do]. It is God's way of PREPARING US in every way, FULLY EQUIPPED for EVERY GOOD THING God wants us to do." III Tim.3:16-17 NLT New Living Translation)God's Ten Commandments are His LAWS OF LOVE that teach those who submit to them HOW TO CONDUCT OURSELVES around one another... and God Himself. Love and Respect one another. Don't murder anyone; that's a good way to teach your children. Don't steal from anyone; that's another good way. Don't lie... well... you get the idea of how the things parents do "affects their children."
