You are probably speaking of "lower motor neurons."

These are neurons that send information from the spinal cord to the muscles of the body & they travel within all most of the nerves of the body (like sciatic, median, etc).

These neurons are controlled by "upper motor neurons" and control your muscles to allow you to be able to move.
