Ligaments connect bone to bone.
The membranes that hold the ovaries in place are the ovarian ligament and suspensory ligament, while the oviducts are held in place by the mesosalpinx. These ligaments provide support and help position these reproductive organs within the pelvic cavity.
Proteins are the main building blocks for tissues including muscle, hair, nails, skin, eyes, internal organs, nerves, ligaments, tendons, cartilage and membranes. They are also the building blocks of cells, cellular membranes, organelles--all the way to the level of DNA and genes.
Ligaments connect bone to bone.
Ligaments are found at joints.
But ligaments are found in both. Bones are connected to bones with ligaments.
The bones of the middle ear, also known as the ossicles, are held together by ligaments and membranes. These include the annular ligament, which secures the stapes bone to the oval window of the cochlea, and the suspensory ligaments that attach the ossicles to the walls of the middle ear cavity.
