The coat of arms of Chile is conformed by many elements, and each one of them have an specific meaning and significance. The Condor is one of the most important symbols of the country, since this majestic bird lives only in this territory, the other animal represented in the coat of arms and that also is an exclusive species of this land, is the Huemul. Colors are also very important, the red color is there to represent the blood that was spilled in the fight for the independence of the country, the blue color is the sky and the white of the star is the snow over the Andes. This star is supposed to represent the government. The motto under the coat that reads 'Por la razón o la fuerza', it reads 'By reason or force' in English, and its meaning is related to the Chilean conviction to use the force if others options fail.
