There is usually a line going to the distributor, and often a line going to the power brake booster. Sometimes there are other lines in use for emission control devices.
Connect the line to a source that is above the throttle body on the carb. It should be a source that has no vacuum at idle.
its part of the fuel rail has a vaccume line hook to it
There is a hook on the end of the slide hook it onto the loop inside the carb.
sounds like a chevy motor 250 cid. you can go original which was built by rochester, believe it or not a decent parts store could hook you up. if you want a bit more power tou can look at summit racing or jegs. holley, carter, edelbrock all make something for you motor you can even by a 4 barrel intake manifold and carb for about 50 more horse power , my suggestion by a nice holley 2 barrel carb and a carb adapter

It hooks up to the vacuum ports on the carb or intake.
There are two excellent pdf's for this carb at summitracing.com.
How to hook up fuel lines to petcock on 98 gsx 600
each car different, throttle lever on carb to bracket.
hook, line and sinker; lock, stock and barrel
there should be a large vacuum source on the base of the carb. if not you'll need to tee off the one going to the power brake booster.
Most Rochestor 2 and 4 barrel carbs should fit on the manifold but watch out for subtle linkage and choke hook ups. And the carb off the 350 will be a bit rich for the 307. Short of changing the metering rods, it's tricky to lean out.
