The fuel tank operation is one of the most criticized features in Farmville, since a farm can have 300 squares or more, and usually you harvest, plow, and plant all at the same time, therefore needing 900 squares worth of fuel to do it all. Some farmers plan their crops so only 1/4 or so of their farm comes due at a time, thus allowing greater use of the vehicles and fuel. I personally use the tractor only for plowing since that seems to be the most boring chore of the three.
