in many different ways depending on how humane the trap is the foot trap and the cage trap. typically they are made from metal and close the animal in when it springs the trap but sticky paper for rats is also considered an animal trap.

They might kill, eat, or ( if a nice person) let them go. They can also ( if the person is very nice) take the pet, feed it, and take care of any wounds it has.
