What do you call someone who is like your son, but not your son..I'm writing a backstory for my character..who happens to have a sire (a vampire who turned you into a vampire) who thinks of my character in this way? Preferably one word……..please help..I’m trying to translate it into Japanese..could also just be the Japanese word for it..also not in the Japanese pictograms (?), but in the English alphabet..

The alphabet of Americans is called the English alphabet. It is a Latin alphabet that consists of 26 letters and are the same letters that are found in the ISO basic Latin alphabet.
The word alphabet is formed from alpha-beta, the first two letters of the Greek alphabet. So saying alphabet is pretty much the same as saying ABC.
