A career soldier is the correct term. Another term that is not polite is a "Lifer" it is often an easy way to receive a bloody nose or black eye.

The UK Army are called Pongos, (because historically where they go the pong goes,) well that's what the Royal Air Force call them, they call us Crabs, because we march sideways and they cannot.

Dumbledore's army stays together, stays strong and stay's loyal to Harry and Dumbledore. In the deathly hollows Harry, Ron and Hermione don't go back to Hogwarts but Luna, Ginny, Neville and the rest of the DA stays together waiting for their return ! :)
