Meteors /meteorite .There are also called shooting stars when they burn up in the atmosphere due to friction on entry in earth's atmosphere..
Meteors,
then once they hit the surface, they are meteorites.
Meteoritesis what we call stones that enter the earths atmosphere.
A stone which enters the Earth's atmosphere from outer space is called a meteor.
it changes the earths surface by...pushing in to the earth!falling down and crumbling the earth!and being the largest rock in the world it creates attraction!
Stormy Weather Weather can be anything from a sunny day to a hurricane. Weather is what goes on in the atmosphere above the ground.
Friction . The space craft is moving at several thousands of miles per hour (extremely fast) . At this speed it meets up with the gas particles of the upper atmosphere, hence friction. As an anology, if you throw a spinning flat stone parallel to the surface of water it will bounce off the water. If that angle is too big that stone will plunge into the water causing a splash (friction). So space capsules have to strike the upper atmosphere at just the correct angle, because '1' they may bounce off into space and never return, or '2' plunge so sharply into the atmosphere that they 'burn' up. So the angle of re-entry has to be 'just right' to stop either 'bouncing off' or creating a 'big splash'. Thereby minimising friction.

Meteors or meteorites.
Meteors, they are called meteorites after they have landed.
Meteors not chlorophyllansw2. Meteors if seen in the sky only, and meteorites if they land.
Stones that enter the Earth's atmosphere fro outer space are called meteors. If any pieces of them reach the ground, those pieces are called meteorites.
Comets are flying bits of rock that don't enter the earth's atmosphere and meteors are flying bits of iron stone or stony iron. Also meteors do enter the earth's atmosphere.
