It's called back-burning.
Forest fire officers wait for the wind to change and then they light a fire which burns up the undergrowth forming a firebreak. Then when the fire comes back towards the firebreak there's nothing to burn, so it can't cross over the firebreak. This stops the fire spreading.
Most likely, a fire maker for example, would be a match or hot foil. Therefore, there is no such thing called a '' Fire Maker ''.
