A threaded shaft used to convert rotary movement to linear movement is called a lead screw. It consists of a threaded rod or shaft with helical threads, and a nut that has corresponding threads. As the lead screw rotates, the nut moves along the threads, resulting in linear motion. This mechanism is commonly used in applications such as actuators, CNC machines, and 3D printers.

The intermediate shaft is the shaft going to the driver side wheel from the tranny. The shaft is suppose to eliminate what you call torque steer, It comes straight from the tranny and bolts to the engine block with a bearing race to hold the shaft and at that brace is where the half shaft, or drive shaft connects to the intermediate shaft and to the driver side hub.

floating bearing allows axial movement of the shaft. fixed bearing does not allow for axial movement of the shaft

Shaft collars are used to position and locate components on a shaft. They also help to limit the movement of the shaft. There are many different types of shaft collars available. Each of these collars has different characteristics. As a professional manufacturer and distributor of shaft collars, we also provide custom shaft collars with special requirements.

The normal jaw movement of a cow when chewing is what vets call a "lateral grind" - as they chew, their jaw moves constantly from one side to the other - left to right.
