Dead weight. No, really I call them likely car sick by the time I get the car into my yard. Kids are the worst as they are usually screaming and I have ot call children services to turn them over.
It does to some people. Reading a book gives a stationary input to your brain, but the motion input from your inner ear is sending a different experience. Your nervous system is confused and thinks there is something wrong with you. Tries to empty your stomach in case you have been poisoned.
The reading of a speedometer in a car shows the speed of the car, not the velocity. Speed is a scalar quantity that refers to how fast an object is moving, while velocity is a vector quantity that includes the speed and the direction of motion.
I think actual car sick is a motion thing. Maybe clausterphobia?

It depends (like people) on the individual animal. Some dogs are quite happy to travel long distances in cars, while others are sick after a short journey.

You can still use the milk that has soured for recipes that call for sour milk, it will only make you sick if you drink it.

I have had that problem for as long as I can remember. I cannot read while moving; car, plane, etc. If it's something that you have to read, you may try getting your reading material in a talking book / mp3 format, so you can listen instead of reading. Either that, or dramamine, but that will put you to sleep.
