They are probably getting the horse to stand straight before mounting. If they stand directly in front and appear to look through the horse they may be checking their stirrups are equal length, this is a good position to check from. With a well trained horse and rider there is no need to stand in front and pull the horse, the horse will be easily manouverable whilst by its shoulder.
Befor you mount a horse, check the animal's girth, and that the horse has gone to the saddle.you should check your girth, make sure your bridle is put on correctly, and that your clothing is on correctly
It comes from the word "veterinarian", an animal doctor. Before buying an expensive animal like a horse, the buyer would have a veterinarian check the health of the animal. "I won't buy this horse until I have him vetted" meant that he would have a vet check the horse before buying it.
you can get a vet to check it over(preffrebly before you buy it)
Sometimes it takes ages to find the perfect horse. You need to not rush- look around, take your time, and check everything out. I recommend that you ride a horse for at least a week before buying. Check for conformation faults and get that horse vet checked.Remember, take your time.Winnie the Horse Gentler

If you mean do you check that the saddle is still tight on the horse, absolutely! Check your girth; ideally, it should be tight enough that you can slide your fingers under it, but you can't lift it up from the horse's side. Also check your girth if you've been riding for a while but plan to do some work that will involve galloping or tight turns. This is an extremely important thing; a loose saddle can slide off a horse and cause you to fall. I've done this and wound up with a moderate concussion and back damage. And always wear a helmet when you ride; it can save your life!Check the girth Check the stirrups And check that the horse ahs gone to the saddle
In order to tell the age of a horse, you would need to examine their teeth.
Have the rider get off the horse immediately and try getting a more experienced rider to train the horse, or turn out the horse before riding to get that energy out. or more training with you to get the basics.
