What do you do about your father who treats you horribly?

I actually went through this with my father being very disrespectful to me. My father would call me the b word pieces of dog stuff. mean every name in the book. it would hurt my feelings so bad to the point where it put me into a very deep depression for years and years. Well, my dad end up living with me needing my help through out the years still being very disrespectful yet i still helped him thats the person i am. In the process of him living with me we found out that he was really sick. I mean sick to the point of dying. Well, I thought one day soon i have to sit him down and have a heart to heart with him to really let him know what kinda impact hes having on my life because he’s driving me insane. I had to tell him because if he passed away I would be left with Unbearable grief. well we sat down and i told him. I was so respectful letting him know from chilldhood on up to adulthood how I felt about him as well got some answers as to why he was acting out towards me. It was no reason why he should have been acting that way at. all he had to do was have a conversation. well my dad died a few months ago. My heart was lifted because i had chance to talk with him to see what our issues were and how could we move passed them. Not to mention i did have to stay away from him for a long while until he got himself together mentally and think about why i wasnt coming around anymore. which too much did change on his part. Thats your father I understand and you may have to separate yourself for a while and come back and fimd out what the issues are. Dont stay away too long tho. I hope this helps good luck!!
