Merlin the mechanical owl will follow you (and can be directed by you) after you feed him the mechanical mouse.
To get to the laboratory with Merlin the owl, you will have followed these steps:
By feeding him the robot mouse (ouch).
When you have the key to the underground laboratory below the hay bales, you will disturb the owl when you enter, and he will fly out. Follow him and feed him the owl. Then he will go with you, but only within the Mill area. Go back underground and push down the dirt wall on the left. If you threw the lever in the castle dungeon earlier, the gate is open to the dungeon cell. To have Merlin retrieve the fuel rod, click on him and then the rod.

You use the owl to retrieve the Alien fuel rod from the dungeon. To get to the dungeon you must go to Mordred's hideout (between the hay bales on the farm). You will need the small key. Get the owl to follow you by feeding him the mouse. Push against the wall and you will find an open gate to the dungeon. The robot inside will blow up, and you can click on Merlin and then the fuel rod to recover it. The fuel rod powers the saucer Excalibur in the mud swamp.

Later, you will control Merlin to fight Mordred in the final battle. Pick up the bombs from the floor, and drop them on the Green Orb when they flash red.
Feed the Mouse to the owl. Push down the dirt wall and take the tunnel to the back gate of the dungeon. The robot self-destructs, so you click the owl and then the fuel rod to recover it.

Merlin the mechanical owl is in Mordred's underground laboratory beneath the hay bales on the farm. You will need to get the key and also capture the mouse using the moldy cheese in the dungeon (he is going to be owl food). Once fed, Merlin will follow you and help you retrieve the fuel rod in the dungeon.

Push through the dirt wall in the lab and follow the tunnel to the back of the dungeon cell. If you threw the switch in the library, it is open and you can enter. When the robot blows up, click Merlin, then the fuel rod, and he will get it for you.
It only follows you in the lab, the mill area, your rocket ship, and when you are defeating Mordred. After you feed him the mouse, of course. You can't take him back to the castle until after the end of the game.

It's very tricky but you will get there if you keep trying..... You find the sharks with the coordinates X-75 Y-78. you can either shoot a shark (but it won't cause damage to the shark :( ) or get closer to it so that it starts to follow you. this is the tricky part, try and get far enough so you wont get eaten but close enough so you don't loose it and while your doing that you have to try and find the black hole..... :( hope this helps :)
